Beach House Park,
Celebrating 100 years
This project is made possible with The National Lottery Heritage Fund,
with thanks to National Lottery players.
Researching the heritage of Beach House Park since it opened
to the public in 1924. Including a series of free activities for the local
community. Gathering and sharing information about the park's
social history, entertainment and leisure activities.
Did you know? there is also a war memorial dedicated to WW2 carrier pigeons in the park!
Were you there? Beach House Park hosted the World Bowls Championships in 1972 & 1992
New features in 2024:
Designed & Created: an educational bird trail & infographic sign about pollinators.
Signage for BugCycle garden, heritage information board & a water harvester for the community allotment.
Hosted free activities: Lawn Bowls taster sessions, wreath making, bush craft, writing workshops, heritage walks & talks.
Celebrated the parks heritage: with events in the park with free crafting activities and entertainment.
BIg thanks to all our volunteers: Helping to research the park's heritage; learning about the parks heritage, plants, bees, pollinators and the Warrior Birds.
